Description This lavender is indigenous to the West of Southern France, Madeira and Tenerife. The plant grows to heights of about 40-60 cm and develops into a small lignified shrub. With its strikingly shaped, bright purple-violet Schopfblüten it is an eye-catcher for every pot, tub and rose bed as well. Also very popular is a position in a stone garden. The leaves are slender and blue-green. If growing French lavender outdoors, leave a distance of 40-50 cm between the single plants so that they are able to develop freely. Light cut backs are possible after flowering, heavy cut backs should be carried out the following spring. Sowing Advice Being germiated by light, the seeds should be distributed on moist herb soil and be pressed on. Simply spray the surface to keep the soil moist. Indoor germination takes about 3-4 weeks. Outdoor sowing should be carried out no sooner than June or July with outdoor temperatures being very warm.
