ISSN Print 1744 9413: ejournal 2051 3011 Editorial Policy: Collingwood and British Idealism Studies: incorporating Bradley Studies The audience The journal is a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary publication aimed at an audience with philosophical and historical interests in the broad range of issues and subject-matters encompassed by the exponents of philosophical idealism, their allies and critics. These interests range from epistemology, ontology, aesthetics, Fairy Tales, political philosophy, archaeology, and personal connections with people, including John Ruskin and Arthur Ransome, and places such as Iceland and the Lake District. The journal is of the highest scholarly standards and is of interest to both specialists and readers with eclectic tastes in reading.   About the journal The Journal was first published in 1994 by the Collingwood Society under the title Collingwood Studies, and appeared annually in both hardback and paperback editions. In 2000 the journal broadened its scope with the title, Collingwood and British Idealist Studies, that reflected the range of philosophic idealist studies internationally. In 2005 Imprint Academic, Exeter, became the publisher, and the journal incorporated Bradley Studies. It was then published in two issues annually. The journal welcomes submissions from all disciplines which take as an aspect of their subject matter the scholarly study of philosophical idealism and its critics, with particular, but not exclusive, focus on R. G. Collingwood and British Idealism. The journal has, for example, published articles and special editions on Kant, and aspects of Italian idealism; as well as historical studies on W. G. Collingwood in Iceland; archaeological controversies; aesthetics; and, previously unpublished manuscripts by idealists. Articles should be between 6,000 words and 8,000 words in length. We also accept research notes on emerging research of scholarly interest. These contributions should be between 2,000 words and 4,000 words in length. Articles and research notes should follow the style guide below. Please note that this journal only publishes manuscripts in English. Special Issues The journal publishes, from time to time, special issues dedicated to specific themes by guest editors and welcomes expressions of interest from prospective editors. The proposal should include a clear statement of the theme of the prospective special issue, along with its aims and objectives and target audience. A table of contents should be included with names of authors, and proposed word-length. The edition will be required to conform to the editorial peer review process outlined below. Each prospective contribution is sent to two experts in the field, with specific interests in the subject-matter of the article or research note. Referees are asked to make comments and clear recommendations: 1) Publish with minor revisions; 2) Publish subjective to substantive revisions; 3) Revise and resubmit, and: 4) Not suitable for publication in this journal. Final decisions are made by the editors, and conveyed to authors as soon as is practically possible. Publishing Ethics The editors and publisher of the journal take seriously its responsibilities to authors and readers to ensure that what is published is written by all the named authors, and that no author is named who has not contributed to the writing and research of the article. Falsification of materials, data or findings, including acts of plagiarism amount to serious professional misconduct and will not be condoned. The editors and publishers will take all reasonable steps to investigate complaints of misconduct, including plagiarism and falsification of results, and conclusions not substantiated by the evidence. Elsevier has created a ‘Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK), (https://www.elsevier.com/editors/perk) which is an online resource to support journal editors in dealing with allegations relating to  publishing ethics. Our procedures follow this resource for good practice. In cases where a prima facie case has been established by a panel of three investigators, who have declared that they have no conflict of interest, and the appeals process has been exhausted, the editors will not hesitate to issue retractions and inform all parties concerned, including the author(s)’s institution of the findings, and supply the appropriate evidence (subject to rules of confidentiality).
